With funding from nib foundation and the support of Miyumba, We Care NSW will be delivering a Yarn Up Connecting Countries program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men aged 18-35 years, with an identified need, who reside in the Maitland, Newcastle or Port Stephens areas.

The Connecting Countries program aims to strengthen the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal men through connecting to Self, Community, Culture and Country. The program will  run over 3 consecutive days on the lands of the Wonnarua, Worimi and Awabakal peoples.

Over the 3 days participants will engage in culturally-based activities which include collecting traditional items, hunting and gathering and, importantly, spending time with and connecting with Aboriginal men.

There is no cost to participate in the group.

Participants who require additional support to attend the program, may involve their existing support worker or request support from We Care NSW
